We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Installer / Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, HVAC systems, and mechanical maintenance, with experience in service technician roles. This position involves installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across various commercial and residential properties. The HVAC Installer will work closely with project managers and clients to ensure efficient system setup and optimal operation, utilizing technical expertise in schematics, HVAC design, plumbing, refrigeration, and equipment repair. Electrical experience a BIG plus
Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment according to specifications and schematics
- Perform system troubleshooting and diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment
- Conduct maintenance and repairs on existing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents for proper installation procedures
- Assist with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Conduct field service activities including system testing, calibration, and commissioning
- Repair appliances related to HVAC/R systems and property maintenance tasks as required
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for client records and future reference
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, service technician roles, or mechanical maintenance within HVAC or refrigeration fields
- Knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing, refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration, and boiler operations
- Mechanical knowledge with expertise in equipment repair, welding, and general property maintenance
- Familiarity with air conditioning systems, appliance repair, field service operations, and HVAC/R standards
- Ability to read technical blueprints and schematics accurately
- Experience with diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical components
- Valid driver’s license for transportation between job sites
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform precise repairs under time constraints
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment safely and work in confined or elevated spaces as needed
- Prior mechanic experience is highly desirable for this role
