Position Summary:
The Field Technician – Construction supports residential and commercial job sites by performing hands-on labor, preparing work areas, assisting skilled trades, and ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and according to project standards. This role is ideal for individuals looking to continue building technical skills and grow within the trade. The Field Technician plays a critical part in maintaining clean, organized, and safe job sites, handling materials, using tools and equipment, and supporting roofers and construction crews throughout all phases of a project.
Responsibilities:
Roofing & Construction Support
- Assist with roof preparation, including loading/unloading materials, staging supplies, and removing old roofing components.
- Transport materials to and from rooftops safely, using proper lifting techniques.
- Prepare job sites by setting up ladders, scaffolding, safety lines, barricades, and required tools or equipment.
- Perform general labor tasks such as debris removal, surface cleanup, and job site organization.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (roofers, carpenters, electricians, etc.) with labor support, measurements, tool handling, and workspace preparation.
- Operate hand and power tools under supervision, including drills, saws, nail guns, compactors, and measuring devices.
- Perform basic repairs or installation support for roofing systems, flashing, and underlayment as directed.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles to ensure they remain clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Inspect job sites for potential hazards and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment issues.
- Assist in erecting and dismantling temporary structures such as scaffolding or protective barriers.
- Support site documentation tasks such as taking photos, measurements, or logging material usage (as needed).
- Maintain professionalism when interacting with clients or property owners and support basic site documentation as needed.
- Assist with material tracking, reporting shortages, and performing basic safety checks such as verifying clear walkways or proper ladder placement.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and perform physical labor for extended periods.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, or rooftops for significant portions of the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind).
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the day.
Experience/Requirements:
- 0–3 years of experience in construction, roofing, general labor, or related job site work (roofing experience preferred but not required).
- Must own basic hand tools (e.g., hammer, utility knife, measuring tape, tool belt, basic screwdrivers/wrenches).
- Dependable transportation to the office or job sites.
- Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety guidelines, and work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
