What are the responsibilities and job description for the Watt Engineer position at WATT HOTEL?
ABOUT THE ROLE
Engineers are responsible for performing general maintenance work to ensure hotel maintenance quality and safety standards are achieved. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you should possess the diverse knowledge of painting, compound & plaster finish work, electrical, plumbing, gas, fire & safety, and HVAC refrigeration. Seeking a full-time engineer-maintenance tech to work Tuesday-Saturday 2pm to 10pm.
Essential Duties:
- Knowledge of, and experience with painting, compound & plaster finish work, spray gun work, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, and HVAC systems required.
- Knowledge of safety management principles; federal and state OSHA regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more throughout the property with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects.
- Ability to walk, including climbing stairs, ladders, stand to a significant degree, kneel, reach, bend, handle machinery, lift, feel, talk, hear, and see.
Specific requirements of the role:
- Project work, planned painting project with spray gun, compound & plaster finish work is required.
- Ensure upkeep of all fixtures and equipment according to preventative maintenance schedule and record such maintenance in logbook.
- Service guest room calls as requested. Repair plumbing, electrical as needed.
- Ensure cleanliness of public areas, internal areas, storage areas, and parking lot.
- Assist other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and/or trade school coursework in related field.
- Min. 1 year experience in hotel or apartment maintenance with painting, electrical, plumbing is required. Hotel experience preferred.
- Completion of apprenticeship under a professional maintenance technician is a plus.
- HVAC, Electricity, or Plumbing Certification is a plus.
Salary : $20 - $24
