Staff / Senior Designer, Structural Engineering

We are seeking Staff Designers and Senior Designers with 0-5 years of experience to work in our San Jose office. This position works on diverse projects for the private sector, municipalities, transit agencies, universities, medical facilities and more.

Staff/Senior Designer Responsibilities

·        Perform calculations in accordance with building codes and company standards

·        Design and detail structural members

·        Assist with construction document preparation

·        Create structural plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules

·        Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets

·        Assure that drawings comply with company production and design standards

·        Assist Project Manager with construction administration tasks such as responding to construction questions, reviewing submittals, and performing site visits.

·        Works under the direction of a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager or BIM Specialist

Staff/Senior Designer Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or equivalent experience

·        0-5 years of experience

·        FE strongly preferred

Staff/Senior Designer Skills

·        Basic knowledge and understanding of building codes including CBC, IBC, ASCE 7, and ACI 318

·        Excellent communication, both verbal and written

·        Time management skills

·        Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and Bluebeam

·        Significant Revit experience desired

·        Experience with ETABS, SAFE, Adapt, or SP Column a plus
