Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to oversee the financial operations of our organization. This role will play a critical part in shaping the accounting function, implementing best practices, and building a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting expertise with leadership skills to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial reporting and operations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting processes in coordination with leadership.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of financial operations.
- Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
- Ensure proper compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA strongly preferred.
- Active CPA required.
- Proven years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully building and developing accounting teams
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
