Qualifications:

The Tournament Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Tournament Director with planning, coordinating and executing successful tournaments and competitions. This role involves working/managing various event management systems.  

Planning and Organizing:  

  • Assisting with developing comprehensive plans for tournaments, establishing benchmarks and having a flexible schedule to accomplish goals year-round. 

  • Strategically coordinating with local and regional athletic stakeholders, knowledge of tournament format, rules and regulations.  

  • Community outreach and coordination to assist with increasing the total number of registrations for each sporting event. 

Logistics Management:  

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of tournament facilities.  

  • Coordinate with vendors to accommodate their needs.  

  • Ensure all waivers, scoresheets and W-9s are safely filed in our records.  

Problem Resolution:  

  • Ability to deescalate issues or disputes that may arise during tournament.  

  • Provide constructive feedback to improve tournament processes.  

  • Provide tournament assistance to participants and parents.  

Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Previous sports experience required, associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.  

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

  • Knowledge of sports rules and regulations.  

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage unexpected challenges.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
