What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nutrition Service Assistant position at Watervliet Public Schools?
Required Qualifications
- Hours and days: 6:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday, during school sessions. Candidates need to apply if these hours work with their schedule. Start and end times are non-negligible.
- Must be able to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work as part of a team throughout the district.
- Must be able to twist, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods on hard floors.
- Must communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, and parents.
- Fundamental math and reading skills.
- Operate a computer and handle money (receive, give correct change, and balance cash drawer).
- Must be willing to comply with federal, state, and department guidelines: current safety and sanitation certification, civil rights training, and safe schools training.
- All training must be completed within the first 30 days of employment.
- Perform other duties as needed
- Preferred Personal and Professional Competencies
- Previous food service experience is helpful.
- ServSafe Certification.
- ServSafe Allergens.
- Be able to organize spreadsheets and data entry.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Daily duties include but are not limited to Meal service, dishwashing, cleaning, production record keeping, food preparation, cashier, and customer service.
- The ability to communicate professionally with various stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and professions.
- Demonstrate collaborative leadership skills.
- Ability to remain professional.
