What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Manager position at Watertown Health Care Center?
SUMMARY
Responsible for assisting in supervising the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping Department in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the facility, and as may be instructed by the Director of Housekeeping ervices, to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the day-to-day housekeeping functions of assigned personnel.
Assign personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Ensure that personnel are performing assigned tasks in accordance with established housekeeping procedures.
Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner.
Assist in the orientation and training of housekeeping department personnel.
Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
Scheduling work assignments, preparing cleaning schedules, etc. Revise as necessary.
Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have knowledge of sanitation practices relating to food handling.
Must possess the ability to positively interact with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and follow written and oral directions in the English language.
