Waterstone Mortgage is seeking a Financial Analyst to support key financial processes and provide meaningful analysis that drives strategic decisions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analysis of all financial information pertinent to the monthly financial reviews with Branch Managers and Corporate Management.
- Build/augment financial reporting/forecasting/budget models
- Advise on impact of proposed business decisions
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as needed
- Manage financials for a wide variety of branch locations. Analyze branch financials and assure accuracy of data from Tableau.
- Analyze and discuss branch trends using Tableau with management staff and provide actionable data and recommendations.
- Develop branch schedules for correcting discrepancies and applying costs to proper accounts.
- Prepare critical daily and monthly journal entries such as Payroll, Commissions, MSR, Hedge, funding/purchase and LOC.
- Reconcile critical general ledger accounts timely, identify issues and resolve reconciling items.
- Create and update job aides for every task and functions
- Review and code invoice payables using Loan Vision and Concur SAP, ensure that all invoices have proper approvals.
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information for both corporate and branches. This includes maintaining proper accounting controls.
- Post journal entries and monthly account reconciliations including identification and resolution of all issues in compliance with GAAP
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Complete any additional duties assigned by management
- Complete regulatory and compliance training as required
- Assist WMC employees and departments as needed
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required. Mortgage accounting experience a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Advanced knowledge of related computer applications such as Microsoft Office, particularly excel, is required. BI experience a plus.
