The Opportunity

We are partnering with a high-growth construction and infrastructure organization to hire a Chief AI & Operations Technology Officer. This is a true executive leadership role focused on transforming the business into a technology-enabled, AI-driven organization.

This is not a traditional IT leadership position. You will operate as a core business leader, responsible for leveraging AI and technology to directly improve operations, project execution, profitability, and scalability across the organization.

The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with hands-on execution and has experience deploying AI and modern systems in complex, field-driven environments.

What You’ll Do

AI & Operations Technology Strategy

  • Own and execute a multi-year AI and operations technology roadmap aligned with company growth
  • Identify high-impact opportunities to deploy AI across estimating, project management, field operations, and back-office functions
  • Translate operational challenges into practical, ROI-driven technology solutions

AI & Automation Execution

  • Lead development and deployment of AI-driven workflows and automation tools
  • Oversee the buildout of data pipelines, predictive models, and reporting systems
  • Ensure adoption across both field and office teams

Tech Stack Ownership & Integration

  • Evaluate and optimize the current technology ecosystem (ERP, project management, estimating tools, etc.)
  • Drive system integration to create a unified, reliable data environment
  • Lead vendor selection and build vs. buy decisions

Data & Decision Infrastructure

  • Establish real-time reporting and analytics capabilities
  • Enable project-level profitability tracking and forecasting accuracy
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to ensure data is accurate, timely, and actionable

Leadership & Culture

  • Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team
  • Educate leadership on AI capabilities and drive adoption across the organization
  • Build and scale a high-performing technology and data function

Cybersecurity & Risk

  • Oversee cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance practices
  • Ensure protection of company systems and sensitive information

Experience

What We’re Looking For

  • 10–15 years in senior technology leadership roles (CTO, VP, Head of Technology, etc.)
  • Proven success implementing enterprise systems and driving measurable business impact through AI and technology
  • Experience deploying AI or automation solutions in real-world operational environments
  • Background in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or industrial environments strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting decentralized, field-based operations

Capabilities

  • Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of operational and financial drivers
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption, not just implementation
  • Experience working in high-growth or evolving organizations

Mindset

  • Builder mentality with a focus on execution
  • Pragmatic and ROI-driven approach to AI and technology
  • High accountability and ownership
  • Strong communicator able to translate technical concepts into business outcomes

What Success Looks Like (First 12–24 Months)

  • Improved visibility into project margins and forecasting accuracy
  • Increased efficiency in estimating and project execution
  • Reduction in manual and administrative workload through automation
  • Deployment of multiple high-impact AI or automation initiatives
  • Integrated and streamlined technology ecosystem
  • Leadership team actively leveraging real-time data for decision-making

Why This Role

  • True executive leadership seat with direct operational impact
  • Opportunity to lead a full-scale AI and technology transformation
  • High visibility across operations, finance, and executive leadership
  • Ability to build and shape the function from the ground up
