Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction management software, along with the ability to supervise and coordinate with other trades. The Pipefitter will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of piping installations on construction sites.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine piping layouts and specifications.
- Install, assemble, and repair piping systems using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and other measurement devices.
- Ensure all piping work complies with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to coordinate installation schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling tools.
- Conduct quality control inspections to verify proper installation and adherence to project specifications.
- Supervise and mentor junior team members, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work progress, materials used, and any issues encountered during installation or repairs.
- Assist in budgeting and construction estimating related to piping scope of work.
- Manage subcontractors or other trades involved in pipeline or heavy bid projects as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on pipeline installation or maintenance.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management software such as Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other construction management tools.
- Supervising or management experience on large-scale projects is highly desirable.
- Strong background in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and quality control procedures on construction sites.
- Hands-on experience with project scheduling, managing budgets, and overseeing project timelines.
