Assistant Project Manager – Federal Construction
Waters Mechanical, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to support our growing federal construction workload. We specialize in large commercial and federal HVAC/mechanical projects, including projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and other Department of Defense agencies.
We are looking for an organized, motivated individual who can help manage the documentation and day-to-day administrative requirements of our projects. Previous experience on USACE, military, or other federal construction projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and track project submittals
- Prepare and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Prepare and track RFIs
- Maintain submittal, RFI, and project document logs
- Review project drawings and specifications
- Assist Project Managers with day-to-day project coordination
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, field personnel, general contractors, and project management
- Track equipment and material procurement
- Assist with change order documentation and pricing
- Maintain quality control documentation required on federal projects
- Assist with USACE/QCS documentation and Three-Phase Control requirements
- Track punch-list and deficiency items through completion
- Prepare and manage project closeout documentation
- Compile O&M manuals, warranties, as-built drawings, training documentation, and other required closeout items
- Maintain organized electronic project files and records
Qualifications
- Construction project management or project administration experience
- USACE, DoD, military, or federal construction experience preferred
- Experience with construction submittals, RFIs, AHAs, and closeout documentation
- Familiarity with USACE RMS/QCS is a strong plus
- Ability to read construction drawings and specifications
- Strong computer and document-management skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Mechanical/HVAC construction experience is preferred but not required

The Assistant Project Manager will work directly with our Project Managers and field teams and will play an important role in keeping our federal projects organized, compliant, and moving forward.
