What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intermin Worship Director position at Waters Edge Family?
Time: Part Time (weekly and evening/weekend hours) - 10hrs/week
Reports to: Lead Pastor
Primary work relationships: Worship Coordinator, Lead Pastor
Secondary work relationships: TLC staff, Worship and AVL Teams
Function: The Interim Worship Director provides worship assistance during a sabbatical period or staff leave.
This role will assist the worship ministry of TLC by providing leadership and presence for Sunday services by
leading the band with music direction and the tech team with oversight. They will be the primary role for
Sunday worship and tech leadership to ensure services are planned, carried out and run smoothly. This role
also will provide weekly guidance to the Worship Coordinator role in order to plan services and coordinate
teams.
Responsibilities
Worship Coordination (approx 4 hrs/week)
• Weekly Check-in with Worship Coordinator for guidance (keeping them on track in their duties and
providing any needed guidance in their tasks)
• Help worship leaders in their planning of the worship sets (worship leaders are responsible for planning
worship sets and creating band notes); provide direction and assistance in finalizing the sets with them
and providing any resources or tools for them to create the set; personal worship band preparations.
• Upkeep and maintain tech and worship equipment; troubleshoot during the week as needed and provide
assistance with any needed repairs or adjustments.
• Communicate weekly with Lead Pastor for service needs and to keep communication open.
Sunday Services (approx. 6 hrs./week)
• Setup and Shutdown - turn on all systems and tech and provide needed services prep; make sure all
systems and tech are shut down after services/clean up. (6:00am)
• Rehearsal - Run and lead or assist with Sunday morning rehearsals with the band prior to services.
(6:45-8:15am)
• Service Prep - Participate in pre-service team prayer and service rundown (8:15-9:40)
• Services - participate and engage in worship services each week (music/band director) (9:00-Noon)
• Provide leadership to worship and tech teams on Sunday morning by being the key leader to make
decisions, address issues, and direct the teams
• Lead the band by playing on the team and providing music direction and service flow
• Address any music or tech issues that arise to troubleshoot and provide direction/solutions
Salary : $40
