We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage appointment scheduling, take payments, and support administrative operations. The Dental Office Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth office operations and delivering exceptional patient service.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide outstanding front desk customer service
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using Dental Record systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Open Dental or similar platforms
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits, including Medicaid and other third-party payers
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently
- Handle patient treatment estimates and take estimated payments
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans and treatment authorizations
- Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette
- Assist with office management tasks such as filing, data entry (10 key typing), and maintaining medical records
- Support medical administrative functions including intake procedures, appointment reminders, and patient correspondence
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless clinic operations
Experience
- Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred; dental clinic experience is a plus
- Proficiency with dental practice management software such as Eaglesoft, Open Dental or Dentrix
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT), insurance verification processes, and health information management standards
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and data entry accuracy (10 key typing)
- Exceptional patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and bilingual abilities are desirable
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance regulations and medical terminology is essential
- Previous clerical or administrative support experience in a healthcare setting is beneficial
