What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers position at Waterfowl Farms?
Hours are variable Monday-Saturday, 6:30am to 6:30pm (occasional Sundays) with one (1) hour, unpaid, lunch. Duties include planting, harvesting, tilling, clearing, watering, fertilizing, spray drainage, mowing and bale transport in tractors and on farm property for rice, cotton, soybeans, corn and wheat. Drive tractor on worksite. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Inspect, repair, clean and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
