Hotel Property Accountant Overview:
Waterford Hotel Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Hotel Property Accountant to join our corporate office team. This role is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of an assigned portion of our hotel portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
As a key member of the corporate finance team, the Hotel Property Accountant works closely with property-level managers and corporate leadership to support daily accounting functions, month-end close, and financial analysis. Responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily accounting functions for assigned hotels, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and supporting schedules for property-level and corporate leadership.
- Monitor and reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and monitoring of financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, Waterford Hotel Group policies, and hotel brand reporting requirements.
- Support property managers and leadership teams with financial guidance and training as needed.
- Collaborate with corporate office colleagues on process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Maintain strong relationships with hotel teams and corporate leadership to provide proactive financial support.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of accounting experience, hospitality or property accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with hotel accounting systems a plus).
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with both corporate and property-level teams.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and self-motivated.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
