Responsibilities
- Operate and control wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and chemical feed systems, ensuring smooth process flow.
- Monitor plant operations through data collection and analysis, adjusting controls as needed to meet environmental standards.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on wastewater systems, including mechanical components, pumps, and water treatment equipment.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to automate processes and troubleshoot system issues efficiently.
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks and operate heavy equipment safely in accordance with safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of plant operations, equipment repairs, data logs, and compliance documentation for environmental reporting.
- Assist with construction projects or upgrades by providing technical support and performing plumbing or construction-related tasks as required.
Experience
- Prior experience working in wastewater treatment plants or water utility distribution is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in industrial pump maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting is essential.
- Familiarity with water treatment processes, including chemical handling and environmental compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as tanker trucks or construction machinery is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for data analysis, measurements, and calculations related to water systems management.
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to industrial operations, PPE use, and hazardous materials handling.
- Construction experience or familiarity with plumbing systems will be considered a plus.
