**Position Overview:**

As a Water Taxi Deckhand, you'll enjoy a diverse range of responsibilities, from assisting the captain to safely moor, operate, and maintain company vessels. You will assist passengers in loading and offloading safely and provide excellent guest services. This position is ideal for those transitioning from the service industry, offering a unique opportunity to gain sea time and experience toward achieving a captain's license.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

- Ensure an exceptional onboard experience through extensive guest interaction

- Comfortably provide a narrated tour, showcasing excellent public speaking skills

- Rig and handle mooring lines, securing vessels for safe operations

- Conduct daily vessel walkthroughs, following check-off sheets as directed

- Maintain high sanitary conditions through daily vessel wash downs, vacuuming, and general cleaning

- Physical stamina to perform tasks that requires heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking

- Perform vessel servicing tasks for safe and clean operations

- Load and unload stores and supplies

- Sell tickets and concessions

- Assist passengers with loading, unloading, and baggage handling

- Support the captain in maintaining required log data

- Execute emergency/contingency functions as directed by the Captain

- Perform other duties as assigned by Captain or management

**Qualifications:**

- Ability to handle cash and conduct credit card and check transactions

- Must be proficient in reading, writing, and conversing in English

- Willingness to work flexible hours based on the taxi schedule or as directed by management

- Ability to serve alcohol in compliance with state laws

- Must be able to undergo pre-employment and random drug testing

**Desirable Skills, Education, and Experience:**

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Neat and clean appearance

- Possession of a valid driver’s license

- Previous experience on a passenger vessel or maritime experience a plus

- High school diploma or equivalency
