Role

The Maintenance Technician will be the sole maintenance professional on site, responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, managing facility systems, supporting chemical finishing processes, and contributing to a culture of safety. This role requires a well-rounded technician who is proactive, organized, and capable of working independently.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment & Facility Maintenance

  • Perform basic preventative and corrective maintenance on all production equipment, including:
  • Polishing and buffing machines
  • CNC lathes and mills
  • Vapor Degreasers
  • Chemical finishing lines
  • Reverse osmosis water system
  • Compressors, pumps, ventilation, and other facility equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and implement repairs. Coordinate external service providers when specialized work is required.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and advise on procurement needs.
  • Reduce unplanned downtime through preventative maintenance planning.

Chemical Process Support

  • Conduct routine chemical testing and titrations for finishing lines.
  • Perform chemical additions and maintain proper solution balances.
  • Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.

Safety & Compliance

  • Serve as an active member of the facility’s Safety Committee.
  • Help lead and implement safety improvements across the facility.

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with production staff to understand and respond to equipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
  • Assist with building maintenance and general facility upkeep.

Required knowledge and Skills

Required

  • 3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, machine controls, and mechanical components.
  • Ability to perform chemical testing, follow SOPs, and maintain accurate records.

Preferred

  • Experience with CNC machine maintenance (mills and lathes).
  • Experience in metal finishing or chemical processing environments.
  • Knowledge of reverse osmosis systems and water treatment.
  • Electrical certification or strong PLC/electrical troubleshooting skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently move about inside the plant.
  • Ability to accurately communicate/ exchange information with teammates and management.
