Position Overview
Water Street Brass is seeking a Lacquer Sprayer to join the organization as a member of the Finishing Department. They will be responsible for completing the finished look and quality of a wide arrange of luxury cabinet, and door hardware products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Mix paint, lacquer, and other finishing materials to the required specifications, ensuring proper consistency and color.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure that the finish adheres properly.
- Apply wet paint, lacquer, and other finishing materials to various surfaces (e.g., metal, wood, plastic, etc.) using spray guns and other specialized equipment.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects, ensuring a smooth and uniform finish.
- Correct imperfections, such as bubbles, streaks, or runs, by reapplying coatings or sanding.
- Ensure that the final product meets the company’s quality standards and specifications before it is moved to the next phase of production.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth coordination between painting and other production processes.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using HVLP Spray guns or similar equipment.
- Proven experience in spray painting or lacquer spraying, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to mix and apply paints, lacquers, and other coatings.
- Understanding of safety standards related to hazardous materials and chemical handling.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to manipulate various small pieces of an assembly fixture at the same time.
- Ability to frequently move about inside the plant to access supplies, parts, tools and equipment.
