Position Summary
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Water Mitigation / Cleaning Technician to join our team in the New Orleans area. This is a hands-on position involving the cleanup and restoration of homes and businesses following water damage, storms, fire, mold, and other property damage. If you enjoy physical work, take pride in doing a job right, and want to help people during difficult situations, this can be a rewarding opportunity. Previous restoration, cleaning, or construction experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, monitor, and maintain air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other restoration equipment
- Perform demolition and removal of damaged building materials
- Assist with water, fire, smoke, soot, mold, and odor cleanup
- Remove damaged, contaminated, or unwanted contents and materials
- Record moisture readings and monitor drying equipment
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and team members
- Follow company safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and industry best practices
- Properly clean, maintain, and store company equipment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in water mitigation, restoration, construction, professional cleaning, or related work is preferred
- Training is available for the right candidate
- IICRC certifications a plus
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work
- Comfortable working around water, mold, dust, odors, damaged materials, and heavily soiled environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and professional
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency calls
