Job Summary:
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for providing excellent patient care. This position provides a safe and supportive environment for the development of the patient’s well-being. The position ensures that all necessary patient medical records are properly stored, organized, and are up to date. The position ensures that the facility is in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The position ensures that the facility is in compliance with all applicable standards of practice within the state or local jurisdiction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides patient care under the direction of physician; assists in obtaining information from physician; assists in obtaining prescription drugs from pharmaceutical manufacturers; assists in dosage calculation; prepares injections; monitors patient’s condition to ensure they are comfortable with medications.
- Ensures that proper documentation of patient care is included in daily reports.
- Ensures that adequate supplies are available to support the assigned shift schedule.
- Ensures that adequate cleaning supplies are available to support the assigned shift schedule.
- Ensures that adequate maintenance supplies are available to support the assigned shift schedule.
- Maintains cleanliness of all areas in and around the office; cleans equipment as needed; inspects work areas for cleanliness.
- Maintains cleanliness of all areas within the facility; cleans equipment as needed; inspects work areas for cleanliness.
- Follows all infection control procedures including PPE (personal protective equipment) and masks are provided at all entrance points into the facility.
- Adheres to all policies and procedures outlined in job description including but not limited to: attendance, time-off policy, attendance policy, security policy, client confidentiality policy, safety policy, and OSHA policy.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience: Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred
