Water Lily Learning Center - OTR is a Gold-rated Step Up to Quality program in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. We provide high-quality care and education to children from infancy through preschool using the Creative Curriculum. Our OTR staff is collaborative, mission-driven, and committed to every child's safety and success.
Position Summary
The Floater Teacher - OTR provides flexible coverage and consistent support across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms at our OTR campus. This is a critical role that maintains required DCY ratios and ensures uninterrupted, high-quality care across the center. You will work alongside lead and assistant teachers, bringing reliability and a broad understanding of early childhood practice to every classroom you enter.
Key Responsibilities
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and Creative Curriculum activities across all OTR age groups
- Supervise children during meals, rest, outdoor time, and daily transitions
- Maintain all Ohio DCY health, safety, and sanitation standards across every OTR classroom
- Assist with diapering, toileting, handwashing, and classroom clean-up as needed
- Prepare materials and support lesson execution for OTR lead teachers
- Communicate professionally with OTR staff and families across all classrooms throughout the day
- Adapt quickly to coverage needs and move between rooms based on ratio and scheduling requirements
- Follow all Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality Gold policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA, ECE coursework, or Associate degree preferred
- Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting strongly preferred
- Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
- Understanding of early childhood development across infant, toddler, and preschool age groups
- Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 40 lbs, and support classroom care across all age groups
- Flexible, reliable, and calm under the demands of a multi-classroom support role
- Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances
Schedule and Compensation
- Full-time, Monday through Friday
- $14-$16/hr based on experience and qualifications
