Senior Process Engineer - Water/Wastewater Wightman Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States (on-site) Job Type Full-Time Min Experience Over 10 Years Min Education BA/BS/Undergraduate Job Function Engineering Description We are seeking a Water and Wastewater Process Engineer with extensive experience in planning, design, permitting, and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Candidates must be able to thrive in a team environment overseeing a variety of municipal process projects. Essential Functions: Meeting with clients to understand challenges and needs Preparation of feasibility studies and engineering reports and process design calculations. Coordination with equipment representatives and manufacturers, water and wastewater system layout. Coordination of design efforts with project team members. E.g.: specification writing, construction permitting, preparation of bidding documents, review of shop drawings and other construction submittals, and coordination of construction administration responsibilities. RequiredTraits & Characteristics: Advanced experience consulting or working with local, regional, and state government. Strong interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Passionate about organizing and leading others; drives results by planning, prioritizing, and meeting tight deadlines required. Ability to work independently with a self-motivated attitude; capable of overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. OrganizationalRelationships As part of the process team, supervises direct reports, project engineers, and designers Required Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering PE Licensure in Michigan and/or Indiana (or ability to acquire within 6 months of hire) 10+ years of water and wastewater process experience Preferred Education/Experience: Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering Water or Wastewater operational experience is desired Construction observation experience is desired Project management experience is desired Travel Position based in Kalamazoo 10-15% local travel Our team members enjoy a comprehensive compensation package that includes: Opportunities for hybrid and flexible schedules.
