What are the responsibilities and job description for the Outside Sales Manager position at Water Analytics?
Location: Andover, MA (Hybrid Remote, travel as needed)
Reports To: Chief Revenue Officer
We are a small but highly innovative manufacturer that makes water quality instrumentation primarily for harsh industrial applications. AquaMetrix products are very highly regarded for their ease-of-use, durability, cost and innovative design. Growth has been solid but there is potential for faster growth. We are looking for an experienced sales individual with industry knowledge to grow sales through strengthening of selected distributors and adding several high value OEM-private label accounts. This person will build sales from existing accounts and onboard new ones.
Key Results
- Increase gross sales 20% per annum.
- Add minimum of 3 OEM/private label accounts per year with the potential of $100K/year per account after two years.
- Select (from existing channel partners) and grow 12 with the potential of >$100K/year per distributor.
Responsibilities
- From 100 existing distributors use a metric-based evaluation to select 12 partners with potential of >$100K/year.
- Onboard 12 top partners in the new AquaMetrix Certified (AM) program.
- Provide sales forecasts of AquaMetrix Certified partners and OEM's/private label partners.
- Schedule quarterly calls with AM Certified partners to review performance.
- Schedule bi-monthly trips to AM Certified partners to make joint sales calls and conduct product training.
- Attend trade shows to meet with existing customers and attract new ones.
- Analyze competition to understand competition strengths and weaknesses.
- Understand basic operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of company’s instrumentation.
Qualifications - Required
- Demonstrated track record of sales growth/business development.
- Experience in instrumentation.
- Experience managing sales channels
- Documented communication (especially writing) skills
- Ability to work independently and solve problems accurately and in a timely manner.
Qualifications - Desirable but not essential
- A bachelor's degree in a science or engineering field.
- Experience with social media, e.g. e-Newsletters, website maintenance
- Experience in the process control industry.
- Experience in the water or wastewater instrumentation market.
