We are a growing pediatric group seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Medical Biller with 2–5 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a pediatric medical practice and is proficient in using the Athena EHR/billing software. This role is critical to ensuring accurate, timely billing and claims processing to support the financial health of our practice and enable high-quality patient care.
This position will be based out of our Warren office with the expectation to travel 10% to other locations as needed.
About the Role:
- Manage the full billing cycle: charge entry, claim submission, payment posting, A/R follow-up.
- Use Athena EHR/Billing for charge capture, denials, appeals, and payment reconciliation.
- Review coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) for accuracy and payer compliance.
- Work denials and reprocess claims; track and resolve unpaid or incorrect claims.
- Communicate professionally with parents, insurers, and office staff regarding billing questions.
- Send statements, process patient balances, and maintain organized billing and documentation.
- Support insurance and patient collections while following pediatric billing guidelines.
Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of medical billing experience (pediatrics preferred).
- Athena EHR/Billing proficiency is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing practices, A/R follow-up, and basic coding.
- Experience with commercial plans and Medicaid/CHIP.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent (billing certifications a plus).
You’ll Be a Great Fit If You:

- Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorizations.
- Have proficient experience working with Athena EHR/Billing.
