I. Job Summary Support WMRE with the growth and delivery of sustainability related projects, strategies and concepts to foster both the expansion of WMRE’s current portfolio and new project development. Additional responsibility may include origination, planning, feasibility studies and development related to prospective renewable energy and sustainability projects. The successful candidate will coordinate with third party developers and internal stakeholders to review, analyze and summarize key project parameters, constraints and risks including the application of suitable technology in emerging markets. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned. In this highly external-focused position, you will develop and manage substantive long-term relationships and have a deep understanding of the evolving renewable energy and sustainability driven market. The successful candidate will also, but not limited to: · Play a lead role in driving evaluation, performing due diligence and negotiation in emerging growth segments including but not limited to green hydrogen, bio-methanol, RNG, carbon capture and renewable power with external parties · In consultation with external and internal resources, develop market assessments, production cost models, analytical tools, and business cases and generate feasibility reports for emerging growth segments · Evaluate repositioning of existing assets (development or operating) for opportunities in emerging growth segments · Support formation and ongoing management of strategic partnerships with major equipment suppliers, operators, investors, project developers, technology developers and other value chain participants · Understand the implications and determine applicability of state and federal incentive programs · Actively engage different stakeholders in WM to gather, analyze and develop project proposals · Coordinate with site personnel, business development peers and project management to evaluate technology application · Develop project financial summaries and pro formas · Build project summary presentations · Maintain detailed meeting and call notes Other · Completion of special assignments/tasks as required by WMRE senior management. III. Supervisory Responsibilities Not at this time but possibly in the future IV. Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience Education: Bachelors degree (accredited) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Environmental Science, Sustainability or “Green” Curriculum, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant experience Experience: Five (5) years of experience with biogas processing, bio methanol, solar development, anaerobic digestion, commercial construction, business development origination, hydrogen production development, carbon capture and/or project engineering. (in addition to education requirement). B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements None required. C. Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required Ability to present to both small internal groups and external audiences · Have worked in a multi-cultural commercial environment · Courage to make qualified independent decisions and move forward · Solution oriented and highly proactive · Collaborative, both within immediate team and the wider business · Excellent communication skills and ability to inspire people by building strong relationships · The successful candidate will bring a high level of ethical, intellectual, professional and personal values that complement the team and company culture D.
