Summary
The Maintenance Support Technician provides maintenance support of waste processing, storage, and disposal to support plan activities by performing the following duties and report to Facility, Electrical, and HE Supervisors to get the POD. While performing the duties of the job, the employee may receive occupational exposures to ionizing radiation that are As Low AS is Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) and within regulatory limits.
Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Lubricating moving parts to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear and tear.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working with lubricants and greases to mitigate potential hazards.
- Keep accurate records of lubricant activities, including the type and quantities used, maintenance performed, and any issues encountered.
- Monitor and inspecting equipment for any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction that may require immediate attention.
- A good driving record must be maintained to be able to drive to various locations outside of the WCS Facility and pick up parts needed for site maintenance.
- The ability to understand what parts are being requested and the knowledge to find the right vendor when needed.
- To be able to provide escort duty when needed.
- The understanding of inventory control and the ability to shelf items where needed and provide inventory counts.
- To provide support for all departments during PM events.
- Train to support Fire Watch.
- Maintain Site Suburban.
- Deliver Company Vehicles for State inspections.
- Work hand in hand with Planner/Schedulers to have parts available when jobs arise.
- Performs other related work activities as required.

Education and /or Experience
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED): Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple work instructions, short correspondence, and memos in the English language. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, compute rate, ratio and per to support planning and estimating. Familiar with standard and metric measurement systems.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word processing software.
