POSITION DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Inside Sales Associate
Department: Client Services
Reports To: Director, Client Services
Location: Wampum, PA (Pittsburgh area) or Andrews, Tx
Summary
Provide responsive inside sales support for environmental, hazardous, radioactive, mixed, and industrial waste service opportunities, primarily focused on routine and small-project quotations generally valued under $50,000 with Alaron. Coordinate with Operations, Radiation Safety, Shipping & Logistics, Regulatory Compliance, Business Development, and accounting employees to develop accurate, compliant, and timely quotations for transportation, processing, treatment, storage, and disposal services. Serve as a primary customer contact during the quotation and order-entry process.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
Respond to customer inquiries regarding Alaron facility services, hazardous, radioactive, mixed, and industrial waste management services.
Prepare and issue quotations for routine and small-value projects.
Coordinate pricing, operational feasibility, transportation requirements, and disposal pathways with internal functional groups.
Work directly with Operations, Radiation Safety, Shipping & Logistics, Waste Acceptance, and Finance personnel to develop technically accurate and commercially sound quotations.
Generally, understand customer-provided characterization data, waste profiles, manifests, analytical reports, and shipping information to support quotes.
With the help of functional area experts advise customers with packaging, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal requirements.
Maintain quote logs, pricing files, customer correspondence, and supporting records within company systems.
Track outstanding quotations and provide customer follow-up regarding approvals, revisions, and status updates.
Coordinate internally to confirm waste acceptability and operational scheduling considerations prior to issuing quotations.
Support communications with preparation of customer documentation including profiles, manifests, shipping paperwork, and related administrative forms.
Assist in resolving customer concerns and coordinating operational responses to service-related issues.
Provide sales and quotation activity reports as requested.
Support continuous improvement of quote templates, pricing tools, and administrative processes.
Facilitate ease of customer use of Alaron and WCS services.
Limited travel may be required.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Ability to work across all levels of an organization including operations, radiation safety, shipping, accounting, and business development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple quotations simultaneously.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Understands and is proficient in development of a bottoms up cost model.
- Ability to interpret technical and regulatory information to customers.
- Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, NRC, and waste management industry requirements preferred but not required.
- Excellent analytical and organizational capabilities.
- Professional customer interaction and communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience in business, environmental science, logistics, industrial services, or related field.
- 2 years of inside sales, customer service, operations coordination, or administrative experience preferred.
- Experience within the environmental, hazardous waste, radioactive waste, transportation, or industrial services industry preferred but not required
- Knowledge of hazardous waste, radioactive waste, transportation, or industrial service operations preferred but not required
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High motivation and self-management.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the company.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
Experience using an accounting software (Microsoft Navision a plus), intermediate knowledge of the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook.
