Blue Diamond Disposal, A Waste Connections company is looking to add a Mechanic to their team in Mt. Arlington, NJ.Schedule:Monday through Friday, with alternating Saturdays as neededHours:12P-9PRate: $34-$36/ hr depending on experienceEmployment Type:Full-time**Must Have**3 years of experienceCDL A or B (or willingness to obtain through our CDL school)Computer Diagnostic ExperienceWe're looking for individuals who prioritize safety, take pride in their work, and understand how critical their role is to supporting our drivers and the service we provide to the community.Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, repairs, and diagnostics on diesel vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems
- Interpret vehicle computer system failure codes and make necessary adjustments to engine and vehicle control modules
- Review and complete repairs noted on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
- Accurately document services using fleet maintenance software
- Conduct post-service test drives to ensure safety and performance
- Collaborate with teammates on complex repairs
- Maintain professional, courteous communication with drivers and team members
- Keep workspaces clean and compliant with OSHA standards
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Minimum 3 years of mechanic experience, preferably with diesel trucks
- Strong skills in electrical and hydraulic systems
- Well-rounded experience in mechanical and welding repairs
- Familiarity with diesel vehicle diagnostics and preventative maintenance
- Basic tool set required
- Valid CDL Class B or A license required
- Ability to work independently within a shop environment
