What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer position at Waste Connections?
Work shifts are subject to business needs and seniority, this position will be Tuesday-Saturday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Overtime hours may be required.
Starting pay is $20.00/hour. The pay range for this job category is $20 - $24/hour.
Responsibilities Include:
* Spotting/directing trucks
* Picking up litter on slopes and roadways
* Traffic management - moving signs and cones
* Ensure all customers wear proper PPE
* Process and pack electronics
* Manage mattress recycling area
* General site cleanup/landscaping
* Perform other assigned duties at the landfill as needed
Requirements:
* At least 2 years of work experience in a labor type position
* Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce site safety procedures
* Commit to safe operating practices at all times
* The ability to lift up to 50 pounds
* Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift
* Experience operating water truck, sweeper & forklift is a plus
