What are the responsibilities and job description for the CDL Trainee position at Waste Connections?
Alaska Waste, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a CDL Trainee to join our team in Wasilla, AK. We will train you and help you get your Class B CDL for free!
The schedule will be Monday – Thursday, 5:30am start time, 10 hours per day. Pay will be $19-23 per hour, depending on experience. Once you get your CDL and your route, you will jump to $25.00 per hour! Position will switch to a Roll-Off driver. Must be able to work on Saturday. Will get two consecutive days off during the week.
This is a labor-intensive position requiring regular heavy lifting.

Responsibilities Include
- Quickly obtaining CDL Permit and DOT Medical Card.
- Picking up litter around site.
- General site cleanup.
- Container Assembly and/or repairs as needed.
- Other assigned laborer duties.
- Valid Class D license, and ability to obtain CDL within first 90 days of employment.
- At least 2 years of work experience. Preferably in a labor/operator type position.
- Willingness to do various tasks around site.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions throughout entire shift.
- Clean driving record
