What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Equipment Operator position at Waste Connections Inc?
Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC), a Waste Connections company, is currently hiring a full-time Lead Operator to work in our transfer station in Vancouver, WA.
Schedule is 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM on weekdays (Monday, Tuesday & Friday) and 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Overtime often.
Wage is $32.00/hour
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operating a forklift and baler.
- Sorting out materials from customers.
- Greeting, directing, discussing issues with, and educating customers of onsite rules and restrictions in a polite and courteous manner.
- Directing and tracking incoming traffic and monitoring waste material flow.
- Sorting customer loads -heavy liftingof metals.
- Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work;heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required objects over 50 pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to safely operate equipment on site (forklift, skid steer, baler).
- Ability to provide good customer service to the public.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1- year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Basic knowledge of computer skills.
