Responsibilities: - Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth - Take and develop dental x-rays - Conduct oral cancer screenings - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for home care - Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide as needed - Assist the dentist during procedures - Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft - Follow all HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality - Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sterile work environment Qualifications: - Valid Dental Hygiene license in [North Carolina] - Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program - Proficiency in using dental software systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft - Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and medical coding - Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus - Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients on oral health practices - Attention to detail and ability to accurately document medical records Note: CAD (Computer-Aided Design) is not relevant to the role of a Dental Hygienist.
