Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dermatology or a related field. Solid knowledge of dermatology and cosmetic medicine terminology.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) preferred.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and proficiency in medical practice management software.
- Personal Traits: Compassionate, with a patient-centered approach to care. Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

At WassermanUlitsky Dermatology, our patients will be cared for by Board Certified Dermatologists, each of whom have won multiple awards for high quality care. We take pride in caring for the communities in and around Venice, FL with comprehensive dermatology treatments that cater to the person as a whole and their individual needs. Our practice, specializing in general, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medical Assistant. This position is in a team-oriented dynamic practice where our patients are always our number one priority.
Clinical Tasks:
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Record patient medical history and other relevant medical information.
- Assist with dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, and skin testing.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the provider exam.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider.
- Collect, log, and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Wound checks and suture removals.
Patient Care:
- Educate patients on skin care, treatment plans, and post-procedure instructions.
- Address patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during their visit.
Administrative Duties:
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirmations, and follow-ups.
- Handle medical record documentation and ensure accurate and confidential data entry.
- Handle patient communications.
- Collaborate with the Patient Services team to optimize provider schedules and coordinate patient flow.
- Coordinate care with other facilities
- Administrative duties related to clinical tasks, i.e., scanning, filing, chart prep, etc.
Operational Efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Order and stock medical supplies and equipment.
- Sterilize surgical instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
