What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ready Mix Concrete Batcher position at Waskey Bridges, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY
The Ready Mix Concrete Batcher will support day-to-day concrete plant preparation, production, maintenance, repair and quality control activities at the batch plant. The ideal candidate must be eager to achieve and maintain a level of excellence in customer service as well as have a high standard of expectations for themselves and others they will communicate with.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily batch operations
- Experienced with Command Batch software to batch concrete
- Communicate with supervisors regarding timing of shipments
- Involved in maintenance of the batch plant as required including keeping mixer clean etc.
- Ensure quality concrete is produced and delivered accordingly to meet Company’s daily schedules.
- Participate in daily/weekly meetings with batch team as requested.
- Recommend and confer with Batch supervisor on items needing to be addressed to facilitate the success of the department.
- Involvement with Quality Control for implementation/development and adjusting mix designs and materials to meet job specs (as required).
- Communicate directly with ready mix truck drivers for loading trucks and delivery locations
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid DL with clear driving record; CDL preferred
- 3 years of concrete batch plant experience as a batch operator
- 2 years’ experience driving ready mix trucks preferred
- Familiarity with electrical and hydraulics and conveyor systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must be able to work independently or with a team; willingness to be flexible as needed
- Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires constant (70-100%) use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), hand/eye coordination, walking and sitting. Requires Occasional (40-69%) lifting up to 25lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and feeling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust & focus. Employee shall be able to be medically qualified by a NON-DOT or other job specific physical.
