Materials/Courier - Full Time
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direction of the Materials Manager, performs courier route as required in a timely and safe manner. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Current Driver’s License with clean DMV record required.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Courier Route
- Complete courier route as required in a timely and safe manner. Approximately 5 hours of non-continuous driving.
- Transport mail, supplies, lab specimens, etc. to and from outlying clinics.
- Transport deposits to banks.
- Transport mail to and from post office.
- Maintains vehicle maintenance schedule.
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
- Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.
- Demonstrates dependability/flexibility in meeting scheduling needs of the department and hospital.
- Accepts assignment as preceptor for new staff.
- Completes work assignments on time/readily accepts assignments as observed by manager.
- Reports to work on time and is at work as scheduled, as observed by manager.
