Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interacts with prospective and current students and/or their families, to provide information about financial aid in general, financing opportunities unique to WashU, and answer billing inquiries.
- Exercises professional judgment interpreting policy and procedures to ensure accurate consideration of each applicant’s special circumstances. Maintains student files for compliance with federal, state, and university policies.
- Maintains confidentiality of all matters pertaining to the processing of financial aid.
- Communicates accurately, effectively, professionally, and in a timely manner with students, parents, and campus constituents.
- Responsible for the delivery of financial aid presentations, as well as other outreach activities on and off campus, sometimes outside of SFS business hours and on occasional weekend days.
- Represents the department at special university events such as recruiting visits, orientations, and other campus related functions.
- Participates in appropriate professional associations and training.
- Monitors and stays current on all financial aid regulations at the federal, state, and institutional levels.
- Responsible for completing institutional and departmental retention and recruitment related projects and activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Location/Working Conditions
- Normal office environment.
- As conditions merit, this position may be required to work remotely.
- Travel and attendance at events on and off campus is necessary.
- Work outside of normal business hours is necessary throughout the year.
- Typically sitting at desk or table.
