WTEF is seeking energetic, reliable, and passionate Summer Camp Educators/Counselors to join our team for Summer 2026. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about working with youth and helping create a positive, engaging, and memorable summer experience for students.

Position Summary
Summer Camp Educators/Counselors are responsible for supervising and engaging youth in academic enrichment and structured activities throughout the camp day. Staff will lead and support classroom-based learning experiences in areas such as literacy, STEM, arts, life skills, and other enrichment activities while helping maintain a safe and supportive environment for all participants.
Educators are expected to support lesson implementation, manage classroom behavior, and motivate students to actively participate in daily programming.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supervise campers and maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
Assist with implementing engaging academic enrichment activities and lessons.
Support classroom instruction in areas such as literacy, STEM, arts, life skills, and other enrichment programming.
Demonstrate strong classroom management and behavioral support strategies.
Encourage participation and foster a positive learning environment for all students.
Assist with daily camp operations including arrival, dismissal, meals, and transitions between activities.
Supervise students during field trips, special events, and outdoor activities.
Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants at all times.
Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
Attend required training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Support tennis programming if needed (previous tennis experience is a plus but not required).
Perform additional duties as needed to support program operations.
Qualifications
Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an education-related field preferred.
Experience working with elementary and/or middle school-aged children preferred.
Passion for youth development and working with diverse student populations.
Strong classroom management and leadership skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to plan and facilitate engaging, age-appropriate activities.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and program leadership.
Must pass required background screenings, including fingerprint checks with FBI, MPD, and a sex offender registry review.
Compensation
$25 per hour
