Job Summary
The Washington State Grange is seeking a dependable and community-minded Part-Time Office Assistant with experience in network coding. This position supports both administrative operations and basic technical needs within our state office. Responsibilities
- Provide general office support, including filing, mail handling, correspondence and document organization
- Assist with network coding tasks, basic troubleshooting, and coordination with technical team
- Manage front desk duties, including greeting visitors and directing calls through multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy
- Handle data entry tasks accurately using Microsoft Office, Access, and other office software tools
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and client data with integrity and discretion
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to inquiries via phone, email, or in person
- Support daily office operations and special projects as needed
Experience
- Experience with network coding (required)
- Prior office experience in administrative support or clerical roles is highly preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar bookkeeping software is a plus
- Familiarity with multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to handle high-volume calls professionally
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently within deadlines
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a small team
Preferred Attributes - Familiarity with community organizations or nonprofit environments and interest in the Mission of the Washington State Grange; supporting agriculture, rural communities and civic engagement.
Work Environment - This role is based at the Washington State Grange headquarters in Olympia. You'll be part of a small, supportive office team that works closely with members across the state. The pace varies throughout the year, especially during legislative sessions and major Grange events.
