General School Assistant

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, adaptable, and enthusiastic General School Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our school. This role is ideal for someone considering a career in education, a recent graduate interested in working with children, or a retired educator looking to remain engaged in a school setting.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of School and assist with a variety of responsibilities that help ensure the smooth operation of our learning community.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of School with daily administrative and operational tasks
- Provide classroom coverage when teachers are absent due to illness or other short-term needs
- Supervise students during breaks, lunch periods, and transitions throughout the day
- Support student learning and maintain a positive, respectful school environment
- Assist with light food preparation and meal service
- Perform light cleaning and organizational tasks to help maintain a safe and welcoming campus
- Help with special events, field trips, and other school activities as needed
- Serve as a positive role model for students and contribute to the overall well-being of the school community
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or adolescents preferred
- Interest in education, child development, or youth programming
- Retired teachers, educational assistants, and individuals exploring a career in education are encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs throughout the day
- Organized, reliable, and willing to take initiative
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a school setting
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move throughout the school day and supervise students in various settings
- Ability to perform light cleaning and food service duties
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally
