Position: Manager of Strategic Relations
Reports to: VP of Membership and Education

Are you ready to take on a highly visible role that builds relationships across Washington’s business and accounting community? The Washington Society of CPAs (WSCPA) is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven professional to be our next Manager of Strategic Relations.
This hybrid role (mix of office, home, and in-person visits with firms and companies) is a key member of the Membership & Education team. You’ll be building and strengthening partnerships with employers, managing sponsorships, and driving engagement opportunities that grow the Society’s impact. Key Responsibilities
Firm & Industry Outreach (50%)
- Develop and maintain relationships with accounting firms, Fortune 500 companies, startups, and nonprofits.
- Build rapport with senior finance leaders, CFOs, controllers, and accounting managers.
- Create and execute an annual outreach plan with measurable sales and engagement goals.
- Uncover member and employer needs to align WSCPA programs and offerings with real-world challenges.
- Represent WSCPA at orientations, networking events, firm training sessions, and industry conferences.
- Collaborate with the Membership Team to design onboarding materials tailored for corporate CPAs.
Programming & Engagement (25%)
- Partner with the Education Director to capture industry trends and translate them into relevant professional development programming.
- Nominate and spotlight outstanding professionals through WSCPA recognition programs.
- Serve as the main sales contact for firms and companies exploring WSCPA’s in-house training and team development solutions.
Sponsorship & Partner Collaboration (20%)
- Develop and deliver an annual sponsorship sales plan, setting revenue targets and identifying new opportunities.
- Strengthen existing sponsor relationships and create high-value partnerships.
- Collaborate with technology vendors, consulting firms, and financial service providers to create joint programming and sponsorships.
- Coordinate with the Events Team to manage sponsor activation, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience.
- Provide insights on affinity partner agreements and recommend opportunities to refresh or expand offerings.
Reporting & Administration (5%)
- Maintain accurate records of membership, sponsorship, and outreach activities.
- Build dashboards and reports that track progress toward strategic goals.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on membership, industry engagement, and sponsor activity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
- 2 years in member/sponsor engagement, business development, or sales.
- Experience in professional services, associations, or nonprofit sectors a plus.
- Proven ability and willingness to travel across Washington state (approximately 50%).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Knowledge of budgeting principles preferred.

Compensation: This full-time, 37.5 hours per week position is a FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act) Exempt position. The hiring wage rate is $80,000 annually. The full wage range for this position is $69,095 to $96,733 annually.
