About the Role
Washington Shoe Company, a 4th-generation family-owned footwear business with 135 years of heritage (brands including Western Chief), is seeking a results-driven Senior Amazon & eCommerce Channel Manager to own and accelerate our Amazon and DTC channels. You will drive merchandising, advertising, category expansion, and performance across Amazon Vendor Central and our DTC websites; delivering measurable revenue growth while collaborating closely with our Production Operations team on inventory and forecasting.
This is a high-impact, hands-on position for someone who thrives on optimizing listings, crushing advertising metrics, spotting white-space opportunities (e.g., expanding into high-potential categories), and turning data into action. If you love Amazon Vendor Central, can deliver strong ROAS, and want to help a legacy Pacific Northwest brand win in ecommerce, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising & Content Optimization: Own end-to-end product detail pages on Amazon and DTC, including titles, bullets, descriptions, images, A content, videos, and storefront. Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and continuous optimization to improve rankings, conversion rates, and organic performance.
- Advertising Strategy & Management: Plan, execute, and optimize Amazon PPC campaigns (Sponsored Products, Brands, Display, etc.). Monitor ACOS, ROAS, search term reports, and budgets. Deliver insights and recommendations to maximize ROI. Own the Amazon advertising budget and manage the relationship with our external advertising agency partner, holding them accountable to performance targets, spend pacing, and clear deliverables.
- White Space & Growth Opportunities: Identify and pursue new category expansions, product opportunities, and assortment gaps (e.g., competitive pricing and positioning against market leaders). Conduct market/competitive research and propose actionable plans aligned with our production capabilities.
- Channel Performance & Analytics: Track and report on key metrics (sales velocity, BSR, account health, conversion, revenue, profit). Use data and tools to identify risks and opportunities. Provide regular insights to leadership.
- DTC Website Management: Oversee our direct-to-consumer websites merchandising, promotions, user experience, pricing parity, and alignment with Amazon.
- Account Health & Operations: Manage day-to-day Vendor Central activities, ensure policy compliance, handle escalations, and coordinate closely with Production Operations on inventory flows, launches, promotions, and replenishment timing.
- Team Leadership & Task Management: Directly manage team members, setting priorities, assigning and tracking daily tasks, and ensuring timely, high-quality execution across Amazon and DTC workstreams. Provide coaching, feedback, and day-to-day workload balancing as the channels scale.
- Strategic Initiatives: Test new Amazon features, run promotions, support product launches, and contribute to broader e-commerce strategy. Leverage AI tools and internal systems for efficiency.
What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days
- Full ownership of Amazon Vendor Central and DTC performance dashboards.
- Completed audit and optimization of top product listings advertising campaigns.
- Identification and proposal of 2–3 high-potential white-space opportunities.
- Strong collaboration established with Production Operations and cross-functional teams.
- Effective working rhythm established with direct report, including clear task priorities, accountability, and a regular check-in cadence.

Qualifications
- Required: 5 years of hands-on Amazon Vendor Central experience (preferably for a consumer goods or footwear/apparel brand). Proven track record managing full-funnel Amazon performance (listings advertising growth). Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making. Experience with Amazon Ads Console, Helium 10/Jungle Scout (or equivalent), and ecommerce platforms (Shopify preferred).
- Preferred: Experience in footwear, retail, or wholesale. DTC website management. Knowledge of inventory/forecasting principles. Familiarity with AI/analytics tools for e-commerce. Experience managing or mentoring a direct report. Exposure to additional marketplaces (e.g., Macy’s) a plus.
