Position Summary
The role of the Polysomnographic Technologist - Non-Registered reports to the Sleep Lab Manager. This position, under supervision of a registered Polysomnographic Technologist, is responsible for providing a comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.

Position Summary
The role of the Polysomnographic Technologist - Non-Registered reports to the Sleep Lab Manager. This position, under supervision of a registered Polysomnographic Technologist, is responsible for providing a comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Calibrate and prepare equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Conduct patient introduction and orientation to the clinic including; patient evaluation, education and documentation
- Perform patient hook-up according to AASM published standards
- Monitor the patient during the procedure and intervene, as necessary
- Review data and score the polysomnographic study after the data acquisition
- Assist with initial training of new staff and help with on-going in-services and training
- Education: High school diploma or GED, required. Current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology or completion of the A-step educational modules administered through the AASM.
- Licensure and Certifications: BLS, required. Nationally certified and certification board Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential, Certified Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT) credential, required within 3 years.
- Experience: Previous experience in a sleep lab, preferred.
