Position Summary
The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse reports to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history and medications while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
- Perform any necessary CLIA-waived tests
- Clean room after patient use
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked with appropriate materials
- Appropriately process soiled instruments
- Respond timely to patient messages and inquiries
- Obtain insurance prior authorizations for consultation and/or imaging, as needed
- Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
- Coordinate any appointment and/or procedures with other providers or facilities, as necessary
- Assist front office staff with daily operations, as needed
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a nursing role, preferred.
Work Environment : This position will spend 50% of the time standing and/or walking frequent short distances and 40% of time sitting in a standard office environment for data input and 10% of time reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or squatting.
