Job Summary
The Recovery Peer Specialist plays a vital role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey by providing compassionate care, crisis intervention, and case management . This position involves working closely at the WM Behavioral Health Recovery Cafe with clients to promote behavioral health and facilitate access to community resources. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, crisis management abilities, and experience in social work or behavioral health settings. This role is essential in fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients working towards sustained recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients in recovery, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols
- Monitor client progress and document interactions through data entry and filing systems
- Manage crisis situations with effective intervention techniques and conflict management skills
- Support clients with behavioral health and behavior management strategies
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, social workers, and community organizations to facilitate case management services
- Assist with home and community care activities to promote client independence
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress notes, and data collection efforts
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Skills
- Supervising experience in healthcare or social services preferred
- Strong crisis intervention and conflict management capabilities
- Background in childcare, security, addiction counseling, or social work highly desirable
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and behavior management techniques
- Experience with case management, intake procedures, and data collection systems
- Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Ability to perform data entry, filing, and maintain accurate records efficiently
- Home & community care experience is advantageous
- First aid certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
