What are the responsibilities and job description for the MS SPED Strat II LD/BD Teacher position at Washington Middle School?
The Washington Community School District is looking for a Strategist II LD/BD teacher at the Middle School (Grade 6-8) for the 2026-2027 school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate or ability to attain certificate with an Instructional Strategist II.
- Strong working knowledge of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans.
REPORTS TO: Special Education Director and Building Principal
JOB GOALS: To provide individualized programming/instruction for students with various disabilities and behaviors. Provide students with learning opportunities which develop positive attitudes toward self, individuals and groups of all ages. To teach/work collaboratively with general education instructors in order to instruct students in learning strategies and to assist students in becoming more independent learners in order to enhance student learning, promote the overall efficiency of the school system, and maximize the educational opportunities available to each child. Applicants must have a love for kids, a positive attitude and quality communication skills.
