Description:
Under the direction of the Head Dive Coach, responsible for dive team functions in a short-term, seasonal position, requiring independent work outside the Club
- Conduct regular practices
- Organize divers for dive meets
- Ensure strong communication between coaches, divers, parents and pool committee
- Uphold the philosophy of the dive team
- Lead and motivate divers to be the best they can be
- Maintain records of each diver and maintain Dive Record Board
- Attend all practices and meets while actively leading the practices and inform your supervisor of any conflicts
- Participate in opening dive team meeting
- Attend Meet the Coaches Night
- Abide by the current bylaws of the CCSDA as well as the Bylaws and Rules and Customs of WGCC
- Prepare, copy and distribute heat sheets
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facilities, especially the Coach’s Office and other storage areas and ensure the set-up and break-down of the pool for practices and meets
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR certifications
- Or any similar combination of education and experience
- Acute knowledge of dive meet operations
- Experience as a diver
- Acute knowledge of dives and techniques
- Effective leader
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills to a wide variety of constituents, including both divers and parents (children and adults)
- Demonstrated organization and coordination skills and ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
- Ability to maintain quality and safety standards and coordinate quality assurance programs in areas of responsibility
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship-building skills
- Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, kneel, reach, bend, stoop, twist, climb, clean and lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to handle hot and cold interior and exterior conditions (sometimes hot and wet environment) and exposure to dust, fumes or gases
- Must be able to work in close proximity to moving machinery
- Independent mobility
