Washington Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in the United States. It began in 1889 as the Washington Field Club, which became the Washington Golf Club in 1897. In 1914, it merged with the Washington Club, which had been founded eleven years earlier. The course has nine holes. The 18-hole par is 71 or 72, depending on which tees are selected.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled greenskeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining all aspects of the golf course, practice area and clubhouse area. During the summer of 2025, the club will be installing a brand new Toro irrigation system.
Duties
- Perform regular groundskeeping tasks including mowing, trimming, raking bunkers, watering, etc.
- Irrigate and maintain plant health through proper watering techniques.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools.
- Assist in landscape maintenance by planting flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed.
- Monitor the condition of the golf course and report any issues or required repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas by removing debris, leaves, and litter.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all groundskeeping equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete larger projects efficiently.
