Job Description WGL - Manager Advocacy Washington Gas has an immediate opening for a Manager of Advocacy to drive advocacy campaigns, conduct policy analysis, engage stakeholders, foster internal collaboration, and manage communications to advance Washington Gas' interests in a rapidly changing energy sector. You Will: • Advocacy Campaign Management: • Develop and execute advocacy campaigns to promote Washington Gas' positions on natural gas and renewable energy. • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure effective campaign implementation and alignment with company goals. • Policy Analysis & Development: • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments related to natural gas and renewable energy in Washington, DC and surrounding states. • Conduct policy analysis to inform Washington Gas' advocacy positions and contribute to strategic decision-making. • Stakeholder Engagement: • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and advocacy groups. • Represent Washington Gas in industry forums, meetings, and public hearings. • Internal Collaboration and Communications: • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a unified approach to advocacy and effective communication of advocacy initiatives. • Develop internal communication strategies to keep employees informed about advocacy efforts and industry developments. • Political Landscape Management: • Stay informed about the political climate surrounding natural gas and renewable energy in Washington, DC. • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on navigating political challenges and opportunities. You Must Have: • Bachelor's Degree Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, or a related field preferred • Master's Degree preferred • 8 Years experience in advocacy, public affairs, or related roles in the utilities or energy sector required • 2 Years supervisory experience required • Experience leading, developing and mentoring employees. • Proven success in managing advocacy campaigns and achieving policy objectives. • In-depth knowledge of the political landscape related to natural gas and renewable energy in Washington, DC and surrounding states. We offer a competitive salary range of $122,000 to $177,500 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
